Coastal Marlins are an Australian men’s Twenty20 franchise cricket team that competes in an independent and privatised Twenty20 cricket competition, the Brisbane Premier League (BPL). Based in Maroochydore in the state of Queensland, the Marlins wear a light blue and orange uniform. The team plays in the Senior competition, while the Marlins also feature multiple junior age groups including U12s, U13s, U15s, U17s for males and U23s for females.
The Marlins were formed in 2021 to play in the inaugural Brisbane Premier League competition. The inaugural captain was Sandgate-Redcliffe batsman Zac Keune. Notable players include Glamorgan batsman Nick Selman, Sydney Sixers batsman Daniel Hughes, Sydney Thunder players Jay Lenton and Joel Davies, and former Queensland Bulls player Corey Hunter.
The Marlins narrowly missed reaching the finals in fifth-place during the inaugural 2021 Brisbane Premier League season. They turned things around in 2022 and reached the Grand Final for the first time, but were beaten in that match by eventual champions Gold Coast Waveriders by 19 runs. In 2023, the Marlins again reached the finals, but were beaten by the Gold Coast Waveriders in the semi-final by 8 wickets.
