Hobart Hurricanes are an Australian men’s Twenty20 franchise cricket team that competes in Australia’s domestic Twenty20 cricket competition, the Big Bash League (BBL). Based in Hobart in the state of Tasmania, the Hurricanes wear a purple uniform and play most of their matches at their home ground, Bellerive Oval (currently known as Blundstone Arena for sponsorship reasons).

The Hurricanes were formed in 2011 to play in the Big Bash League, succeeding the Tasmanian Tigers, who played in the now-defunct KFC Twenty20 Big Bash competition.
