Moreton Magic are an Australian men’s Twenty20 franchise cricket team that competes in an independent and privatised Twenty20 cricket competition, the Brisbane Premier League (BPL). Based in the Moreton Bay region in the state of Queensland, the Magic wear a purple uniform. The team plays in the Senior competition, while the Magic also feature multiple junior age groups including U12s, U13s, U15s, U17s for males and U23s for females.
The Magic were formed in 2021 to play in the inaugural Brisbane Premier League competition. The inaugural captain was former Queensland Bulls player Glen Batticciotto. Notable players include Perth Scorchers replacement player Chris Sabburg and former Queensland Bulls player Brad Ipson.
The Magic won five out of six games during a successful inaugural season that saw them reach the Semi-Finals of the 2021 Brisbane Premier League. However, they were beaten in that match by eventual champions Gold Coast Waveriders by 4 wickets. A disappointing season followed in 2022 with the team narrowly missing the semi-finals on net run rate with just one win. In 2023, the Magic finished fourth in Pool A with just one win from four matches.
