Western Power are an Australian men’s Twenty20 franchise cricket team that competes in an independent and privatised Twenty20 cricket competition, the Brisbane Premier League (BPL). Based in Ipswich in the state of Queensland, the Power wear a green uniform. The team plays in the Senior competition, while the Power also feature multiple junior age groups including U12s, U13s, U15s, U17s for males and U23s for females.
The Power were formed in 2021 to play in the inaugural Brisbane Premier League competition. The inaugural captain was Ipswich Hornets allrounder Harry Wood. Notable players include former Queensland Bulls and Brisbane Heat player Steve Paulsen, and former New South Wales and Sydney Sixers player Nick Bertus.
The Power won two out of six games during a disappointing inaugural season that saw them finish sixth in the 2021 Brisbane Premier League. Another disappointing season followed in 2022 with the team finishing last in Pool A with just one win. The Power failed to turn things around in 2023 going winless across their four group stage matches in another disappointing season.
